Meet the Puppeteers

Ginger Browning

Picture of Ginger BrowningGinger is a recently retired paralegal, who has begun her second career as a Kids on the Block of Knoxville puppeteer! Ginger enjoys walking her dog, Lucky, traveling, reading and gardening. She spends a large portion of her time getting her teenage son where he needs to be.

Nancy Carmon

Picture of Nancy CarmonNancy retired from school teaching and is back in the classroom with Kids on the Block of Knoxville. She also volunteers with Ijams Nature Center as a naturalist with school groups. Nancy likes to travel with her husband, ride her horse, Flag, and hike. She is learning ventriloquism and enjoys needlework and old movies on rainy, winter days.

Becky Ferguson

Picture of Becky FergusonBecky has been puppeteering with Kids on the Block since 1985, performing before national audiences on several occasions. Her master’s thesis focused on interactive puppetery as an educational communication tool. The mother of two daughters, Becky is active in her church and community theater and serves on several non-profit boards.

Sara Beth Jeffcoat

Picture of Sara Beth JeffcoatSara Beth has been a puppeteer for almost 10 years with Kids on the Block in Tennessee. She is also a published writer and public speaker on disability, abuse and grief. She has been married to Joe, a pastor, for three years. She is also working as manager of Sunglass Hut, and is currently working on her Master’s of Theology.

Mark Lochhead

Picture of Mark LochheadMark is a veteran employee of WBIR-TV. He got his start in puppeteering way back in the first grade and it has blossomed into a life long interest. His Kids on the Block credits include “Bullying and Self-Esteem”, Prejudice and Problem Solving, and “Fire Safety”. Mark, along with his wife Beverly, a Knox County school educator, are active in their church and enjoy traveling and running.

Bonnie McCormick

Picture of Bonnie McCormickBonnie started puppeteering with Kids on the Block in 1991, in California and then in Texas. She moved to Knoxville in 2000 with her husband and three sons, and has been with us ever since. She is a former television reporter and an active community volunteer. She loves to sail and scuba dive with her family.

Aja Rodriguez

Picture of Aja RodriguezAja hails from south Texas and through Maryville College is now in the Knoxville area. She was a Theatre and Writing Communications double major who is now working as an HIV Prevention Counselor with Helen Ross McNabb. She has a plethora of stage experience and is enjoying the challenge of translating that to puppetry.

Susan Silber

Picture of Susan SilberSusan has been puppeteering for Kids on the Block since 1989. She has a Masters Degree in Child and Family Studies from the University of Tennessee. Susan loves to walk, bike, and work out at the gym. As the mother of two sons, Susan is passionate about bringing the Kids on the Block messages to area school children. Susan also serves on several local non profit boards.
